Owen Meany:
The four piece rock gang known as Owen Meany has itīs roots in the Leiden region. Blending garage with stoner, they have created their own style in the best tradition of the MC5, Kyuss and many other great bands. Alternating fast, punk oriented songs with more slow and heavy songs they seem to somehow create an experience which you definitely donīt want to miss. Although the band only started in the fall of 2005 they already have some upcoming gigs. So all you have to do is check out the tourdates and get your lazy ass to the venues where they are playing, you wonīt be disappointed!
Spijkers:
Punk- Metal collective SPIJKERS revolves around guitarist Pim Scheelings. Dutch enfant terrible Scheelings, a comic book artist who recently published his autobiography "ZOUT" is somewhat of a controversial character in the Dutch rock-scene. Infamous for his mood swings on & off stage, he is said to have destroyed countless guitars and amplifiers during the SPIJKERS' live shows of recent years. After frequent changes in the line up of the band due to Pim's habit to fire mucisians almost every minute, the current composition of SPIJKERS seems to be a consistent one. The band is in preparation to record a new album by the end of this year and are looking for a label since their last deal with a Dutch Indie turned sour ( I wonder if Pim had anything to do with that?).
