PIETER M. DORRENBOOM ovb
Pieter M. Dorrenboom born in Rotterdam on 21 May 1965, is a Dutch comic
artist who has been mainly active in the Dutch small press scene, producing single illustrations.
He strarted off doing a year of Art Academy.
In 1985 he designed a record cover for the band BATMOBILE of which a friend of his was a member.
Since then, he has designed many of their.
Initially, hid drawning style was strongly influenced by Chaland and Serge Clerc and besides not only by other cartoonists and artist like Picasso, Miro and Stuart Davis, but also by illustrations in children's book like the Little Golden Books series, advertisements and on packagings from days long gone.
Every now and then he runs into designer he ha snot heard of before, where as it seems as if uncounsciously they influenced his style, like Jim Flora, a record sleeve designer from the fifties.
When he first saw this man's work it seemed very familair, even though he had never seen it before.

Claudia Hek was born on 5 November 1975 on the rustic Dutch island of Terschelling,
which she quickly left in the dust for Amsterdam , spending about 1 month at the Rietveld Art Academy before realizing her rock n' roll vision of art wouldn't be encouraged there.
Moving from scary realistic portraiture to striking pin-ups and other so called low-brow themes such as tiki and Mexican art.
Her style is much valued by garage rock bands world wide for poster and t-shirt designs, which she prints herself. She exhibits regularly.
