Alleged bricks - Place your blame

Normally I'm not that keen on bands using a combination of streetpunk and hardcore, but Alleged bricks from Washington, DC is doing it the way I like it. In fact the band reminds me of Sheer Terror 'Just can't hate enough' era and other great acts like 86 mentality and Negative Approach (only a little slower).

I never thought T.J. and the others could pull this off! This is a sound I'm missing nowadays! Lyrics that'll make you want to kill those fuckin' emo kids and hate hate hate.

Serious Sheer Terror influences on 'Virtue' and 'obscene' make 'Place your blame' one of the best releases in this genre I've heard in a long, long time. Hardcore kids are usually making fun of bands using oi! influences, but 86 mentality proved that you can get that part of the scene listening to your band as well.

That's exactly what Alleged bricks is doing. This is angry stuff and you need to hear this to get that frustration out. 'The pain', 'No more', 'Locked up' and 'Necessary evil' are some of the best hatecore tracks I've ever heard!

As aggressive as singer TJ looks, you'd never expect Alleged bricks to come up with a Bad Brains cover as well ('Don't bother me')...oh well...there from D.C., ya know. Payin' their tribute to the masters. Very cool version with HR kinda vocals as well!!

I'd recommend this cd to anybody who wants to hear what hardcore, hatecore and aggressive oi! is all about. I can't stop giving high points... this is fuckin' great stuff!!!! I think I'll have my Alleged bricks shirt on tomorrow T.J.!

Score: 90/100
