Ever imagined a mix of stonerrock, punk, garage and metal being good? G.U. medicine from the UK is doing it…and how!!!
I saw the artwork and I was thinking about stoner rock immediately, I was sure I would hate it. Gave it a chance and fuck man, after hearing the 11 songs (and one crazy soundwave) I gotta conclude this is gonna be thé rock ‘n roll record of 2006 along with Boozed’s ‘Tight pants’.
Lot’s of distortion on the vocals are creating that garage atmosphere, while the music sounds heavy like a motherfucker! And that is Heavy with a capital H!
The cool thing about ‘Saints of excess’ is the easy access to the songs…great choruses and excellent songwriting in every track! G.U. Medecine makes you want to speed those highways with y’r bimbo around your neck, volume - top level and that middlefinger high!
‘The price I pay’, ‘Mind like a motorbike’ and ‘Saints of excess’ are awesome and ‘Amphetamine express’ describes what this record is all about. I think I’ll hit that repeat button again…Score: 88/100
