When formed in '94, Shandon played punk rock. Since '95 - with their second demo out - they have been wide spreading 'punkbillyskacore', a mix of different kinds & styles. The song 'Questosichiamaska' [Thisiscalledska] , included in that lucky demo, was able to achieve clubs and radios playlist and as for it took place in Shandon first album, too ( '97, CD/LP), 'Skamobile' out for the legendary indipendent TVOR.
In '98 the band realizes a 7'' called 'Due gusti due baci' [ Two flavours two kisses, sort of italian way of speaking] and the second album, 'Nice Try'In between Shandon get more experienced, helped in it by the contact with big bands who they play as support band with, for example RANCID, PENNYWISE, VANDALS, TOASTERS, MURPHY'S LAW and OFFSPRING.
Playing live in clubs & festivals is basilar for the band which can count more than 700 shows after touring all along Italy. Further, they've shared the stage in festivals with famous italian bands like Persiana Jones, Raw Power and Punkreas. At the end of 1999 the band do a mini tour in the Netherlands with DE HEIDEROOSJES, massive punk rock band, out on Epitaph. In june '00 the third album FETISH was released by Ammonia/V2 Records, together was released the videoclip of the single: Placebo effect. In December '00 after 8000 copies were sold, V2 released a new videoclip of the second single JANET. In March the band headline the MTV brandnewtour, and in April toured all the month Europe.
The 31st of August the band finished the Fetish Italian tour after more than 160 shows, and started the second european tour, with more than 20 shows in a month. During october was released a double cd anthology called "Punk.Billy.Ska.Core", with the first two demos, the first album Skamobile, the 7" and some songs released just for compilations.
January 2002: the new album is ready: "NOT SO HAPPY TO BE SAD" (Ammonia/V2/Sony), 13 songs, the first single and videoclip "Evoluzione" got rotation on the most important music tv network (Mtv, rockTv, matchMusic, Viva etc etc). The band start to tour again 40 shows totally sold out in the biggest italian clubs.
April 2002: In Italy the band release an EP, called "Legacy", as second single, with 4 unreleased songs. The "Not so happy to be sad" album is released in Belgium, Holland, Spain and Portugal by Funtime rec. Again a European tour 33 shows in 40 days!
May-June 2002: a Split cd with Headlong was released in Italy and Germany. Shandon starts again to tour Italy joining as co-headliner of the biggest festival like Explosion Tour, AntiTour and Tora Tora.
In october a new videoclip "My friends" was broadcasted and also get the RECOMMENDS quality prize from MTV. The band finish the tour in the beginning of december, 138 shows in a year: this is Shandon.
