Lovebite started in 1990. Their first line up was Eggie on guitar and vocals, Andre on bass and Rick Strik on drums. After a few demos they debuted in 1994 with their first album ‘Lovebite Live’, a live album recorded at a sold out concert in Hedon, at their hometown Zwolle.
By that time the band was known for their intensive touring around the country, at least one gig a week besides their regular work.
In 1995 Rick decided to leave the band. Joosten (ex-Killcityrebel and The Hunter) was asked to replace Rick. After a year of touring Lovebite receorded it’s first studio album called ‘Greatest Shit’, this album had good critics in Holland, Belgium, Germany and even Japan. Lovebite was ready for their next step, they toured with De Heideroosjes, did supports for Gluecifer, The Hellacopters, D.O.A., The Exploited, UK Subs, The Vibrators and Herman Brood.
Besides all this they did their own shows and a bunch of festivals.
In 1999 the band wrote an album named ‘Troops of the Damned’ referring to their dedicated following. Joosten wanted to take some time off in 2000, so the album was completed with Marco on drums. Six months later Marco was replaced with Mario. Mario did the tour 2001-2003. Then Eggie and Andre decided to take a little break. By that time Joosten (joostah.com) was working with Killcityrebel again but he missed the energy of Lovebite’s live performances and the strength of their music.
After a few phonecalls Eggie, Andre and Joosten decided to give it another try.
So in the summer of 2004 they played their favourite songs in a practice room and this was the start of their latest ‘we march again’ tour.
The response on their new shows gives them enough reason to work on a new album that will be released in 2006.
